Where to eat in Villamassargia

Olives are the defining flavour of Villamassargia, whose ancient grove of S’Ortu Mannu has shaped local food traditions for centuries. Two specialities carry national recognition: s’orìa de S’Ortu Mannu pistàra, early-ripening olives crushed and seasoned for the table, and su pani cun orìa de Biddamatzràxia, the village’s olive-studded bread. Country cooking completes the picture, with malloreddus alla campidanese, ricotta ravioli, snails in tomato sauce and roast suckling pig appearing on agriturismo menus. Seadas with honey provide a familiar Sardinian finish, while local extra-virgin olive oil and Carignano accompany meals.
