Where to eat in Portoscuso

An old tuna-trap village, Portoscuso lives by the sea: its historic tonnara yields bluefin tuna, bottarga and belly cuts that headline both pasta and main courses. Spaghetti with bottarga, Carloforte-style tuna and fish soups tell of a deep bond with the Mediterranean. Beyond the catch you'll find fregola, malloreddus and the white and red wines of the Sulcis. Each summer a tuna festival celebrates the town's signature product.
